If you’re interested in wildlife photography in the slightest, the Detroit Zoo currently has the 2007 Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year gallery at the Ford Education Center. It is a must see if you are interested or enjoy wildlife photography, as it is some of the best in the world, images are submitted from amateurs to National Geographic Society photographers. This gallery travels to the Detroit Zoo every year and I imagine the same gallery can be found all over the US in zoos, art museums, etc. One of the photographers that was highlighted last year and again this year, winning or placing in different categories is Paul Nicklen. Nicklen a photographer for the NGS and you have no doubt seen some of his work around. His website highlights a lot of his current work including his recent visit with the polar bears in the Arctic and 50 hours worth of dives with leopard seals in the Antarctic (he was the first person to dive extensively with leopard seals, and in turn learned new stuff about their behavior).
