Walk in the park

I haven’t got out as much as I should have for the fall colors, but here is something I got while out in the park this weekend.

Happy Valley

Took a trip to State College, PA for University of Michigan versus Penn State football. Good game, cool place, wish I didn't have to lug all my equipment around so I could go wander.
Anywho, these are my means of transportation.

My flight back to Detroit didn't leave till 6 a.m. on Sunday and I was done with my work at around 1 a.m., the airport, which you can see in the last photo is tiny, didn't open till 4:30 a.m.. I hung out at what is known as The Diner in State College till about 4:15 a.m., if you go get a grilled stickie, it was amazing. I should have taken some photos while there, I didn't, there were too many drunk Happy Valleyers around to worry about my stuff. I had a taxi take me back to the airport and I took a little nap, hopped on the plane and headed home. It made for one extremely long day.

On location studio, UM Basketball

I decided to have some fun at Michigan’s Men’s Basketball Media day and set up some interesting lighting. My main light was coming from up top with a snoot. I had a soft box to the side with another light with an umbrella below it. Unfortunately, not a lot of time plus weird lighting didn’t give me the results I hoped for. But I got a few neat ones like this one of freshman Ekpe Udoh and some of his 7-3 wing span. Next is captain Lester Abram standing tall.

Early Morning Webs

I've been away for almost a week for a cousins wedding and while in Florida a good-sized spider decided to make its home in the doorway to our backyard. Every morning we let our dogs out through this door and while being gone this big guy felt the urge to spin its web in the corner of the door since no one was home to bug him (no pun intended).

It was a little stormy this morning while letting the dogs out and I looked up to see if I could catch some of the lightning in action, while glancing up I saw the good-sized abdomen on this fella.
Still groggy, I grabbed my camera and shot from the outside in with the backdrop being our curtain that covers the doorway, backlit by our dining room light.
